Here is a photograph of our old faithful "Volkswagon Van" that we took everywhere...and back! This was on one of our Trips to the Colorado River, to canoe...we had a great time, even had lunch on an island!

Here is a photograph of our trusty "TLC" FJ60 on one of our Mojave Road Trips...we had such fun! Notice the specially designed and made window screens...they were made after our first experience with the Mojave "bugs". Necessity, "they say" is the mother of invention!

Here are some of our favorite travel and adventure links:

Desert Studies Center This is the site for Zzyzx, out in the great Mojave Desert! David and I have been over the historic wagon route, the Mojave road a couple of times, and sadly it is now closed to all vehicular traffic. It was quite an experience, and we have very fond memories not only of our trips but the friends we made!

A Gathering at the Mojave Phone Booth Another Mojave Desert site...we've used this telephone which is located out in the middle of nowhere!

Mojave Desert Heritage & Cultural Association Click on the link! The Friends of the Mojave Road is the organization we met up with on our Mojave Road expeditions.

Calico Ghost Town Check out our dear friend, Cactus Dale on the main page...he may be wearing a pink shirt, but he is also carrying a pick axe! :)

The Britt Festival Nannette loves the Britt Festival...it reminds her of Macarthur Park in Los Angeles... when it was safe!

Speaking of Macarthur Park, here is a photograph that I found on the web...it is of the corner where many Sundays I would be listenting to the Los Angeles Concert Band performing on the band stage, located to the right of this photograph...many a fond memory! (Especially, when the lake had all of the ducks, swans and geese to feed, during intermission!).

More on Macarthur Park in the future...I'm also searching for photographs of Point Fermin, in San Pedro...which I will add to a separate page...

The Lava Beds National Monument We live in a very beautiful area..just to the east of us is this National monument, where we have enjoyed roaming and spelunking into the heart of the earth! Many of our friends and family have joined us...and we anticipate many more visits to this almost magical place!

The following image is of our front 40 acres, where we live, taken via satelite, it's most impressive except for the fact that from the sky we do not appear to have many trees...of course, on the ground level view, we have quite a few! Our driveway winds from the top left of the photograph down to our "homesite". you can see the two containers, our home, the old Streamline trailer and the two vehicles...funny, we must have been out in the old International, as it is not in the photograph!
